Level of Parent Participation in the Eucharistic Community

We looked at this diagram at the Fall River Deanery meeting and it generated an interesting discussion. The pastors and catechetical leaders were asked to estimate what percentage of the parents of the children in their religious education programs are actively involved in the Eucharistic community (I wasn't clear in the instructions and some thought I asked what percentage were involved in the Religious ed programs)
It was interesting to see some of the percentages listed, and with only a few exceptions, most fell below 25%.
Now that you have had time to think about this question, do you think the percentage that you reported is accurate?

Fall River Deanery Meeting March 7, 2011

Hello to all of you who attended the Deanery Meeting at St. Michael's  last Monday night. The food was excellent and the conversation was great. Thank you again, Fr. Ed, for sharing your hospitality with all of us.
Our conversation centered on ways that we can help our parishioners to become more connected to Christ through the sacramental life of the Church, and the sharing of ideas was helpful and inspiring.
I thought it might be helpful to provide a place where we can continue the sharing of ideas so that we don't have to wait for another Deanery meeting.
First, a mea culpa to all of you, especially the catechetical leaders. I never gave you the opportunity to introduce yourself to the pastors and to each another. Perhaps you can use this blog to first introduce yourself, tell us who you are, which parish you serve, and a little bit of your background. How long have you served in your parish, are full or part-time, where do you work if you are part-time in the parish.
Then, you can share some more ideas or thoughts about the evening.
I am looking forward to using this blog as a way for us to enrich the ministry of catechetics in the Diocese of Fall River, and to help you to grow in your ministry.
